DEVILDRIVER: “The Music Has a New Fire Only a Line-Up Change Can Bring”

DevilDriver are a relentless force of nature. They have toured the world countless times and took no prisoners along the way. The reformation of Coal Chamber may have slowed the beast, but didn’t knock it out for the count. I talked to to the band’s legendary front man Dez Fafara and his right hand man, guitarist Mike Spreitzer, who discussed the new album Trust No One, the new line-up and touring America and Europe. Jack: Hey, thanks for taking the time to speak to me. How are you? Mike Spreitzer (Guitar): Awesome! Beyond excited to start touring again. Dez Fafara (Vocals): I’m well. Jack: You’re about to release Trust No One after your longest break in between albums. Do you get nervous about the critical and fan response? Dez: Not really, at this point we’ve done our best and it seems the record is earning high marks. Mike: A little nervous but more excited. This is by far the most important record for me since I joined the band. Regardless if listeners like it or not, I’m very interested to see how our fans react to it and which songs they take to.
